Gene Sturgeon, 47, Hayden Lake, Idaho, died
Friday, Feb. 17, 1995 in Kootenai Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 10, 1947, in Thermopolis to
Hugh and Leona Higginbotham Sturgeon. Mr. Sturgeon was raised in Thermopolis
and graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 1966. He received his
Bachelor of Science degree from California State University at Fullerton in
1970. Mr. Sturgeon worked in advertising for the
Lesher Newspaper group in Antioch, Cal., and for various newspapers in the
Virginia and New England areas and in the Midwest. He worked in advertising in
the Big Horn Basin, including the Thermopolis Independent Record and the Big
Horn Basin Times. He then became advertising director for the Coeur d'Alene,
Idaho, Press.

From 1991-1995 Mr. Sturgeon was employed by Hagadone
Directories.
He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed writing and was an avid tennis player and golfer. Mr. Sturgeon is survived by a son, Berkley,
Coeur d'Alene; his mother, Leona, Hayden Lake; and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at Yates
Funeral Home Coeur d'Alene Chapel with Dave Shaner officiating.
