ROCK SPRINGS--Memorial services for Rock
Springs resident Jack R. Banks, 55, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at the
Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs. Cremation has taken place in Fox
Crematory of Rock Springs.
He died Nov. 25, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of
Sweetwater County in Rock Springs following a courageous battle with
cancer.
Born Aug. 14, 1947 in Laken, Kan., he was the
son of Kenneth and Wilma Lea (Ballard) Banks and attended schools in
Thermopolis, Green River and Rock Springs. He graduated from Rock Springs High
School in 1966.

On Feb. 3, 1968, he married Julie Thomas in Rock Springs.
He was self-employed as a plumbing contractor and owned
ASAP Services in Rock Springs
A member of the Chariot Racing Association and High School Rodeo Association, he had been a 4-H leader and steward for the Wyoming State Parimutuel Racing Association. He enjoyed chariot and horse racing, rodeos, hunting, family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, son,
Chad Banks, and his wife, and daughter, Kandi Pendleton, and her husband, all of
Rock Springs; parents-in-law; two brothers, Keith Banks and his wife of Arkansas
and Stephen Banks of Rock Springs; brother-in-law; sister, LaVonne Carrol of
Salt Lake City; a sister-in-law; four grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
